#WeddingWednesday Engagement Story

Hello friends!!!
In case you didn’t know.. I’m engaged!!!

Check out our “love story” from this post in case you missed it.

Dating as adults has been way different than dating in college. It’s faster, more serious and way more fun. We had real money for fun and boujee dates, we weren’t confined to the restrictions college brought, no homework and we had the ability to travel around to see friends and family. We were intentional about pursuing God first and making Him the center and reason for our relationship. We listened to podcasts, read books, and talked with older couples about what a Christ like marriage looks like.

Sooo… Jacob and i had been talking about marriage and getting engaged very seriously starting around November. I knew without a doubt I wanted to marry him after our second date. So around November, we were serious about what a timeline could be, what would be best financially, logistically and what would help us get married the fastest.

Side note: In August, we started saving seriously for a wedding. We knew if we wanted to get married we were going to have to pay for it so we didn’t want to wait for more money so we started saving early.

Jacob said he would start looking at rings and being more intentional about it after the craziness of the Christmas season. I was very very impatient. I am a planner. I like to know every detail of life and the thought of not knowing if I would get engaged in 2019 killed me. I would always tell myself “May 2020” so I would try to relax.. it didn’t really work…

In the middle of January, my bestie pal Mere texted me about coming up to Clemson to hang out for my birthday in February. We made a plan and I was sooo excited. As the date got closer I feel like Jacob dropped some hints about what the weekend would entail. He mentioned Saturday we would “go on a special date”… it definitely struck my attention. The more and more I thought about it I called Mere and told her I thought he was going to propose in Clemson. She of course denied the whole thing and played dumb. I always though Jacob would propose in Clemson and this was the only weekend we would be there for months.

While we were in Clemson I completely forgot about the possibility of us getting engaged. I was so excited to be with my friends and catch up that I guess it just slipped my mind.
Saturday rolls around and it’s time for our date. We were going to the place where we had our first date and then to get pizza. The whole car ride to the trail where we had our first date my stomach was in knots… I was getting suspicious again.

We got out of the car and started walking the trail. As we’re walking Jacob starts talking about our relationship and starts to choke up… in that moment I knew. We turned the corner and there was a set up with pictures of us.. a bible with my new name on it and a ring box. I have nooo idea what he said or what happened all I know is we were both crying so hard and then when I stopped crying I had this big, shiny rock on my finger.
It was perfect.

Now there’s 4 and a half months til we get married & get to be frfr besties forever!!!

XOXO,
E.

This outfit gives me all the summer feels. The weather in Georgia was so nice this past weekend. It was much needed after all the rain the past two weeks. On Mondays my new blog post is going to be catching you all up on my past week and just what I have been up do lately.

The past week was really good for me. In case you didn’t know, I moved back in with my family after college and have been at home ever since. My younger brother moved out within the past two weeks so that meant I got to move into his room for the next 5 months til I’m married!!

Wow. this new room has changed the game for me. It is soooo much bigger than what I had and I now have my own bathroom. The Lord is good. Being in a clean and wide open space is so good for my productivity and motivation. I feel so good right now. Because of my nice new room… I’ve kept it so much cleaner! I’m not going to decorate it because soon I’ll start moving my stuff to Jacob & I’s apartment.. but you best believe Imma do an apartment tour at our new place.

Workouts:
I got really into BBG since graduation. I’ve done the program through twice and loved it! I highly recommend it for a good quick easy home workout that has you dying. but recently my knees had been really hurting from the intensity of the workouts and i really needed to change it up. So with my wedding just 5 months away I got a gym membership. I love so far! It’s given me the availability to easily switch up my workouts and I have started to incorporate more weights to tone up.

Would you want to see a workout routine blog post?
