Weekly Five:

May 8, 2016 – May 14, 2016

The Weekly Five is a new post. Each week I want to write about five things that happened this week, new products and/or things I am grateful for.

1. On Monday, I started my first big girl job. I have an internship at the convention & visitor’s bureau. It’s exciting & there’s so many events going on. I think I’m really going to enjoy it. (:

2. I started running again for the first time in forever. I’m terrible at it honestly, but I love it and I really missed it.

3.  Dress Up had $12 sandals on Wednesday!! & is having 30% off tops right now with code 30OFFTOPS + my code EJOHNSON10

4. Taylor Swift is on the new cover of Vogue. #praise I’m not a fan of this new look of hers, but still.. it’s Vogue.

5. Sunday was Mother’s Day!! I love getting to tell my mommy how awesome she is. She’s so wonderful, full of grace and strength. I love her. Plus I got a yummy meal out of her special day!!

XOXO,
E.

What Breaks My Heart.

“What breaks your heart?”

This is the question my pastor, Perry Noble, asked the church a few months back.
This question has stuck with me since.

“Whatever breaks your heart the most, that’s where you’re called to serve.”

As soon as this question left his mouth I knew, what breaks my heart more than anything is people, especially teenage-20 year old women who don’t understand their self worth.

It is so heartbreaking to see young women trying to find their worth in a guy, in how scandalous they dress, and try to find their worth in earthly things that will soon fade away.

I feel like everyone at some point deals with this issue because I know I have.

You are not defined by what you wear.
You are not defined by who you date.
You are not defined by what you do with that guy or that girl.
You are a child of the most high King.

You are beautiful and you are worthy.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” Jeremiah 1:5

Known.
God, the creator of heavens and earth KNOWS you.
Just think about that. That’s crazy!!

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14

Psalms says “wonderful are your works”, everything God creates is wonderful, you are wonderful.

I encourage you to just take some time & rest in that truth.

God has called me to serve.
God had placed a desire in my heart to give people confidence and self-respect in themselves.
That’s what I want.
I want you to know how amazing you are.

What breaks your heart?

XOXO,
E.
