#Blessed

I’m currently all cuddled up in my bed at home watching some Gilmore Girls, drinking some tea, hanging out with my pup and soaking in some much needed relaxing time after a busy semester. Today, all I want to do is relax and catch up on life. I went for a run this morning and treated myself to some starbz #basic. It’s thanksgiving break and I feel like reflecting on life the past few months and count my blessings.

This semester was challenging and exciting. New friendships were made, I was stretched and pushed further in all aspects of life. I’ve learned more about myself, others and my future. I am extremely thankful for all I have in my life right now. I’m thankful to be apart of the Clemson family. I’m thankful for my friends (especially my roomies). I’m thankful for my family. I’m thankful for my church. And as much as sometimes I don’t like it.. I’m thankful for my classes, professors and the challenges I’ve faced throughout the past few months.

Here are some pictures of my semester so far:

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Count your blessings.

It’s okay to not be okay.

The Lord has been telling me to write this post for a while now, but as you’ll probably find out why I’ve been putting it off. So here goes nothing…

Vulnerability has never been something I’ve been good at. I somehow just can’t tell others what I feel and I definitely cannot tell others the rough stuff going on.
I don’t know why. I’ve just never been good at it.
I’ve always believed that I have to have it all together all the time and Jesus likes to put me back down in my place and tell me I don’t have it together.
It’s so great (insert sarcasm here).

Lately, everything comes back to vulnerability and transparency with others.
It’s hard for me to tell others about my life and what I think  about something even if we are super close because I have the idea that they’re not going to understand at all and just be like “ok ya eliz”. But Jesus doesn’t want us to be closed off like this.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” Proverbs 17:17

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

I feel like I tend to share my smaller issues with others and keep the big issues to myself, thinking that no one needs to hear my problems or wants to know. We are made to be in community with others and build each other up in good times and bad.

Sunday at church I was talking to a girl about serving and she asked me what God had been teaching me lately and I told her He was teaching me vulnerability and she said “Wow that’s awesome, thanks for being vulnerable to share that.” It’s crazy how God works. I needed to hear that. Instances like this happened about two other times throughout the week too!

It’s okay to not be okay.
& it’s okay to share that with others.
There’s no reason to hide that.
That’s life.

God has been teaching me how we are made for community and relying on others in times of need.
You can’t do life alone.

XOXO,
E.

Fall Necessities:

Fall, Fall, Fall!!!
Who doesn’t just love fall?!
The cool breeze, sweaters, booties, hot tea, football season… It’s simply my favorite time of the year. There is nothing better. Since Fall is my favorite season, over the years I have discovered my favorite Fall essentials & today I’m going to share them with you!

1. Candles.
Yes, I’m pretty sure candles are an essential every season with me but they’re just so great. My favorite Fall candle is Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from Bath and Body works! It will change your life!

2. Sweaters.
Big comfy sweaters and cardigans are a must have! you can pair them with anything and everything and they add such a cozy feeling to all outfits.

3. Ballet Flats.
I always become obsessed with ballet flats during the fall. They simply or spice up any outfit. Paired with some skinnies and a comfy sweater and you have a perfect outfit!

4. Mauve nails.
Mauve is one of my favorite colors. It’s mature and fun at the same time. It has been my go to color the past year and once you see, you’ll know why! Mauve nails scream Fall to me! Adding a pop of color to any neutral outfit.

5. Pumpkin Bread!
I love pumpkin bread. Fall gives me the buzz for it and I often find myself swinging through the Starbucks drive through to grab a piece, warmed of course. It’s a calorie filled treat to make any boring day better.

6. Fall lippies!
Lipstick was made for Fall! Touch of Spice by Maybelline is all Fall! I always try out new lipsticks in the Fall because it’s a great time to test out new ones. The Kylie Lip Kits are great for fall as well!

Now hurry & go buy everything! It’s not Fall without these essentials!!

Happy Friday!

XOXO,
E.
