What I Learned About Wedding Planning

Wedding planning is such a fun + sweet time.. if you let it be. A bonus for me was I didn’t have too many opinions from others trying to influence me in planning and the opinions I did get… I honestly shut it down fast. I asked for help when I needed it but ultimately it was Jacob + I’s decision. There were somethings I was adamant about and some I didn’t care too much about.

Since I’ve been married, I have had several people ask me for my advice and my number one thing I’ve said and will always say is…

Do want YOU want!

It’s YOUR day. No one else’s… therefore… it’s really okay not to do what they say. This was nice because Jacob + I paid for the majority of our day and what my parents contributed they didn’t fight me on anything I wanted (Thank you Momma + Daddy for being so great at this!). I’ve heard horror stories of parents and in-laws and siblings and everything in between overly giving their opinion when it is highly unnecessary.

Obvi.. be considerate of others but do you….

Another thing I learned during wedding planning….
splurge on the memories + things you really care about, save on others.

I wanted a videographer…so we added that to the budget.
I didn’t care as much about the flowers so we went with a cheaper vendor.
I wanted fun food- so we went with a local mexican grill instead of a sit down caterer… sry but im over traditional wedding meals… mexican food is my fav + it’s so fun. Our cocktail hour was chips + queso and everyone raved about it.

I was also particular about certain aspects of the night…
I wanted fun- dance music so I sent the DJ a specific lists of songs I like and do not like. I honestly hate line dances so I made it clear the only one I wanted played was Crank That Soulja Boy. So tell your vendors what you want and don’t want!

I chose a bartender where we could choose the alcohol and we provide it. We went to Sam’s and bought it in bulk. We used boxed wine… shh no one knows lol but we put our fav bottles on display.

Don’t stress about things. Yes- there are stressful moments but it’s not that difficult to plan a wedding. There are so many checklists online, trust me you’ll be fine. I did it in 5 months and honestly I thought that was too long. I also knew what I wanted which was important. If you’re not sure what you want go for simple and classic- it’ll never fail you.

Looking back on the day, I would not have changed a thing. Maybe done something about all the bugs from the rain the day before lol but that was beyond my control. + that’s how I think everyone’s day should be- nO R@gretz lolz

What is your biggest lessons/advice from wedding planning?

E.

Podcasts You Need To Subscribe To Now

Within the past year or so I have gotten so into podcasts. Especially with long commutes and traffic they became sooo much better than music and it feels like chatting with a friend. Now, whenever I’m driving somewhere or walking around I have a podcast playing. There are two main categories of podcasts I listen to… Social/Chatty lifestyle and Faith based podcasts. BTW I use Apple music to listen to all my podcasts (:

Social/Chatty Lifestyle:

-Gals on the Go
Gotg is a podcast by my 2 fav youtubers. They are bff’s and they have guests, chat about life, productivity, being a girl boss, pop culture and more. I loooove them + I take as much content as they can give me. The release Mondays and Wednesdays

-The Morning Toast
TMT is a daily podcast by sisters who chat all things reality tv and celebrity news. It’s honestly how I keep up with the pop culture world + know all things Kardashian bc they are obsessed! Warning: they talk super fast + are very loud but their genuine and original and I appreciate that.
New episodes M-F.

-Mood w/ Lauren Elizabeth
I recently starting listening to this new podcast bc it is apart of  The Toast Network. Lauren is a Youtuber turned podcaster who chats with her celebrity friends and talks about her crazy fun life in LA.
New episodes on Wednesdays.

-Manifest with Tori Desimone
Again, another fav Youtuber of mine. Tori owns a spin studio + is an all around fitness and productivity guru in my mind. In this podcast she chats with friends and talks all about business and life on the internet. Super interesting and inspiring.
New episodes on Monday.

-LIKEtoKNOW.it Influencer Radio
Liketoknowit it an app bloggers use to link their clothes, fav products, etc for you to shop! It’s super easy to use. Here’s the link to my page. But…. the podcast is all about influencer interviews.. how they got to where they are.. advice.. and insights to their lives. It is so intriguing and inspiring for someone like me who just looks up to so many of these influencers.
No set schedule.

-Pretty Basic
Is yet again another youtuber podcast with Alisha Marie and Remi. They talk a lot about boys, productivity + it honestly just feels like I’m hanging out with some of my friends when listening to them chat!
New episodes every Wednesday.

-The Page Edit
I have been following Anna Page on Instagram for years!!! She has incredible style + everything is affordable. Her hub + her recently started this podcast since they have moved to NYC- they share day to day NYC life, funny stories and they have a super funny voice for their pup!!
New episodes on Mondays.

-The Real Reel
ok…. this is the last youtuber podcast ( I think) I’m going to talk about. Natalie Barbu interviews real people….teachers, engineers, her friends, + more to talk the behind the scenes of the highlight reel we put on social media. She gets raw, real and shows what hard work and a passionate heart can get you pursuing your dreams.
New episodes on Monday.

-The Snatchelor
This podcast is all about the bachelor world + all things happening. I love listening after an episode airs!!

Faith Based Podcasts:
-Milk and Honey
This podcast has ended but I highly encourage you to listen to all their posted episodes.

Milena and Jordan Ciciotti dive deep into theological topics that are affecting our world today. They are so rich in knowledge of the bible and pose a lot of great thought provoking thoughts.
